Dear Alliance Members, welcome to our October NIPC e-Bulletin. I hope those that attended the 16th West of Ireland Integrated Diabetes Care Conference have recovered from such an energetic and vibrant conference. The 10th National Prevention Conference 2023 is just under a month away. This year’s conference line-up of speakers and topics looks amazing. Programme lead Dr Jenni Jones, has put together an exceptional agenda. As an added bonus, a special pre-conference symposium will take place on Thursday 23rd November, 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

On the research side, we are preparing to submit for publication our main results paper from INTERASPIRE, which follows on from the presentation of a major late-breaking science abstract at the ESC meeting in Amsterdam in August. I am also very excited that we are ready to launch EUROASPIRE 6, which will be coordinated by NIPC in collaboration with ESC.
