Prof. J. William McEvoy

NIPC Medical and Research Director, Chair of Executive Council

Welcome to February’s NIPC e-Bulletin. We are delighted with the interest so far this year in our educational events. Obesity Management and the Physical Activity Behaviour Change courses are already underway and the Demystifying the ECG course for March is booked out weeks in advance.

All of these courses and more will be run again throughout the year, in fact booking is already open for Demystifying the ECG, 18th May.

I am also delighted to announce the launch of the 2024 NIPC Series, beginning with Women and CVD Matters, 5th March 19:00 – 20:30.

We’re excited to share the recording of this webinar, in honour of International Women’s Day. This session delves into the unique cardiovascular challenges facing women, featuring insights from our panel of experts. Women face many unique health challenges throughout their lives and this webinar explored cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors and menopause, lipid management, important messages for CVD prevention and control and the lived experience of SCAD.

Thank you to all our speakers for a fantastic session. To view a recording please login and visit our resources section

On the research front the main paper from our InterASPIRE study should be published early this year and we in the NIPC coordinating centre are getting set to start recruitment in the international EuroASPIRE-6 study this summer.

Finally, and as always, if you are interested in professional development please check out the NIPC portfolio of leading postgraduate opportunities in Preventive Medicine and Cardiovascular Health

Many Thanks

Bill
