Online Advanced Practice Course
The NIPC, in partnership with HSE Health and Wellbeing, are delighted to offer this free, online training and education programme, designed to equip healthcare professionals in Ireland with the core knowledge, skills and competences to deliver, understand and support patients to undertake physical activity. The development and delivery of this course is funded by HSE Health and Wellbeing.
The course begins with a live online introductory session, followed by 5 self-paced online modules that are completed over 3 months, and culminates with a live online interactive consolidation session.
Topics include:
- Fundamentals of Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour
- The Current Landscape in Primary Care and Community Settings
- Understanding Behaviour Change – The Essentials
- Motivational Interviewing
- Measurement, Monitoring and Goal Setting to Promote Physical Activity
Requirements:
Applications are welcome from current healthcare practitioners working in primary care and community settings. It is a pre-course requisite for all course participants to complete the HSE Making Every Contact Count (MECC) e-Learning course before applying for this course. All applicants must submit evidence of completion of MECC training with their application.
