The NIPC are delighted to offer this free online training and education programme, designed for healthcare professionals in Ireland. The course aims to raise awareness of how to prevent, recognise and manage people at risk of or living with CKD. A strong focus in this course is the wider considerations in the prevention and management of CKD given the shared risk factors with atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVD) more widely and integrated management approaches required.

The course begins on Tuesday 14th May, 6.30 – 8.30pm with a live interactive case discussion with a multi-disciplinary team, followed by completion of 5 online modules, which participants can complete in their own time over the duration of 3 months. The course finishes with a live consolidation session, where participants can meet with expert leads and get their questions answered.

This 3-month online course,  curated by course lead, Dr. Niamh Kieran, Consultant Nephrologist, Galway University Hospital, is delivered by a highly experienced multidisciplinary team. Collectively they will cover the latest advances in evidence and practice to integrated approaches in the management of CKD and CVD.

Module 1: Overview of Renal Disease and Importance of the Connections in Chronic Disease Management
Module 2: Cornerstones in the Management of CKD
Module 3: Prevention Matters in CKD – Guidelines, Early Detection and Management of Risk?
Module 4: Management in those Living with CKD and CVD
Module 5: Case-Based Implementation of Best-Practice and Take Home Messages

CPD approval pending. Applications are welcome from current healthcare professionals practicing in Ireland. Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel and successful applicants will be notified shortly after the application deadline.
