NIPC are delighted to announce that we are now accepting registrations for the  ‘Delivering Evidence-based Cardiac Rehabilitation in Practice’ online course. This specially designed education and training programme aims to equip health care practitioners with the core knowledge, skills and competences to deliver measurably effective evidence-based rehabilitation services in practice.

This course comprises of an initial online zoom based introductory session followed by completion of a detailed 3 month online component. The online journey involves completing 7 modules in total; engaging in a range of interactive tasks upon their completion. The course is completed following successful completion of a post course short online assessment resulting in an award of NIPC certification.

Delivered by leading academics and clinical specialists from the fields of cardiology, nursing, dietetics, physiotherapy, psychology and occupational therapy.

Topics include:

✓ Expert sessions in how to assess smoking, diet, physical activity and psychosocial health
✓ Best practice approaches to tobacco cessation
✓ Theory and practice of health-behaviour change
✓ New frontiers in healthy eating and secondary prevention
✓ The foundations for effective exercise programming
✓ Management of BP, cholesterol and glucose to target, with optimisation of pharmacological therapies
