NIPC Series Recording Available
Getting to the Heart of Heart Matters in Women

On March 5th, in support of International Women’s Day, NIPC in collaboration with Global Heart Hub, hosted an insightful webinar, exploring the unique challenges women face in cardiovascular disease (CVD). The recording of Getting to the Heart of Heart Matters in Women is now available to view.

Despite being the leading cause of death in women globally, CVD is often under-recognised, under-diagnosed and undertreated in women. Symptoms can present differently than in men, leading to delays in diagnosis and care.

Our expert panel of speakers covered key topics, including missed diagnoses, sex-specific differences in treatment, premature heart disease and the impact of menopause and obesity.

The recording is now available for all Alliance Members.

Demystifying the ECG
Saturday 17th May 2025

We are now taking bookings for the next Demystifying the ECG course, Saturday 17th May. Our March workshop was fully booked and we had some fantastic feedback:

“The course was a great refresher for my existing knowledge, reinforcing key concepts effectively. I appreciated the well-structured format, which made learning smooth and engaging. The pre-course section was especially helpful in setting the foundation and preparing me for the main content. Overall, it was a valuable and beneficial experience.”

“It did EXACTLY what the title said, demystified the squiggly lines into something I can approach in an organised way. The teaching was perfect, not too fast based but not repetitive. The course content will directly affect my daily practice & I would definitely recommend it to other GPNs.”

This is an excellent foundation course and is highly recommended for anyone wanting to improve or refresh their ECG analysis skills. This course addresses the needs of primary care nurses and doctors, hospital-based nurses, private and public, paramedics and other allied health professionals who encounter ECG monitoring and traces.

      Course content includes:

      • ECG analysis made easy
      • Recognition of sinus rhythms
      • Atrial arrhythmias
      • Ventricular arrhythmias
      • Ischemia and acute myocardial infarction
      • Recognising artefacts
