Our Priorities

  • Supporting the delivery of community-based cardiac rehabilitation and prevention programmes, particularly in primary care and local settings
  • Contributing through research and education to national efforts to develop community-based models of care, such as ambulatory hubs.
  • Promoting digital innovation through research, education and collaboration, including the use of e-learning, telehealth and remote monitoring technologies
  • Contributing to improved early detection and referral through education, research and support for best-practice preventive care
  • Collaborating across sectors to explore and inform new models of integrated care, with an emphasis on sustainability and access
  • Delivering education and training that equips healthcare professionals to lead and apply innovation in clinical practice

PEACETIME

NIPC is lead Republic of Ireland clinical partner on PEACETIME, a €10m project which aims to address the significant negative impact of the disease of obesity on people, healthcare systems and wider society. Led by Ulster University, PEACETIME is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

CARDIAC REHABILITATION GUIDE

NIPC has worked closely with the HSE (the Integrated Care Programme for the Prevention and Management of Chronic Disease as well as the National Heart Office) to develop the Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinical Action Guide. The writing group was chaired by Dr. Susan Connolly and also included Dr. Irene Gibson and Professor Jennifer Jones. This guide aims to provide clear, practical guidance to healthcare professionals to implement the Model of Care for Integrated Care for Cardiac Rehabilitation in Ireland and help standardise delivery of high quality evidence-based CR across Ireland.

iMPROVE

Led by Ulster University, PEACETIME is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

SMARTSHAPE

SMARTSHAPE is an EU-funded project driving innovation in cardiovascular care. NIPC supports this initiative, which is focused on advancing new approaches to improve prevention, monitoring, and treatment for people living with hypertension.
